Police Department
On behalf of the men and women of the Police Department, I would like to thank all those who contributed to the Village Employee Christmas Fund; I’d also like to thank those who kept the Town Hall supplied with delicious holiday food items. Your thoughtful expressions of support for the Police Department were greatly appreciated.
If you haven’t done so yet, please take time to explore the new Village website at: www.gatesmillsvillage.com. The website is a quick and easy method of staying up to date with Village related information. In an effort to maximize technology, house watch requests can now be submitted on the Village website…simply click on Watch My House, complete the form, click on Submit, and your home will be added to the house watch list. For those who prefer a more traditional method of submitting their house watch request, you can call 440-423-4405 (Sunday through Saturday, 8 am to 4 pm) and provide the Police & Town Hall Coordinator with your information.
During past years, several Village owned properties have been utilized by the SPAN (Suburban Police Anticrime Network) Bomb Squad for emergency ordnance disposal. The continued feasibility of this practice was recently taken under review. As a result of this review process, it was determined that Village owned properties will no longer be used for ordnance disposal purposes. The SPAN Bomb Squad sends sincere thanks to the residents of Gates Mills for their assistance over the years.
Your Police Department has added a new face to its ranks, Part Time Officer Dylan Hustosky. Officer Hustosky is a graduate of Kent State University and Lakeland Community College Police Academy. At present, Officer Hustosky is working through his twelve week field training program under the watchful care of Officers John Hanish and Eric Kimball.
Until next month – Proud to Serve…Sworn to Protect
Yours in Service,
Ronald L. Whitmer
Chief of Police
