Always looking for new ways to serve the Village, the police department is very excited to introduce two new services to residents. We have partnered with Frontier Public Safety Solutions to provide two programs which will make things safer for our homes and the furry friends inside.

The first is a pet management program which lets residents put pet info such as name, breed, color, contact information and even a photo into a database only accessible to police personnel. A link will be located on the Gates Mills Village website and from there residents can put in any information that would be useful to the police department. Often pets get loose and are recovered by police without contact information making it difficult to locate an owner. Now the police department can access these photos and descriptions in the event a lost pet is found to quickly return them to their owners. I know this will be an excellent tool to get you reunited with your pets quickly and safely.

The second program is an enhancement to our vacation house watch service already offered. Many of you already take advantage of the vacation house watch service and we are happy to check on your homes while you are away. To request a house watch, residents can still call the Town Hall (440-423-4405) during business hours or Chagrin Valley Dispatch (440-423-4456) all other times; but for easier self-service, residents can use the link on the Gates Mills Village website. After clicking the link you can input house watch information which is sent directly to police officers on the road. This new service will give officers the ability to access important contact information in case of an emergency and share observations with other officers for increased security.
