From Your Police Department
Hopefully by the time you are reading this warmer weather should be upon us as spring approaches!!
On Saturday, April 27, 2017 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Gates Mills Town Hall, Detective Sergeant Day will be on site to accept your old/unwanted medications for the National Prescription Drug Take-Back program. Please remember, we are unable to accept liquids or needles.
Our new pet management database program is off to a great start. A reminder that the program allows residents put pet info such as name, breed, color, contact information and even a photo into a database only accessible to police personnel. A link is located on the Gates Mills Village website and from there residents can put in any information that would be useful to the police department. Police personnel can access these photos and descriptions in the event a lost pet is found to quickly return them to their owners. If you have not done so, please consider this valuable service.
This year's Safety Town will be held from July 22rd – July 26th at the Gilmour Academy Ice Arena. Morning and afternoon sessions will be scheduled at a cost of $25.00. The fee will be used to assist Gilmour Academy in defraying the cost to use their facility. This is the 6th consecutive year we have partnered with Gilmour Academy to hold Safety Town and the program has been extremely popular and successful. Registration can only be done online at www.gilmour.org/summercamp beginning in June.
We now have over 500 residents registered for the Your 911 safety app. Be sure to sign up so you will continue to receive mass notifications. If you have questions regarding the new system, please call Dorothy or Jean at the town hall during business hours for information or assistance in registering. A reminder that information about the Your 911 safety app can also be found by visiting our website at www.gatesmillsvillage.com.
Until next month – Proud to serve…Sworn to Protect
