From Your Police Department:
On behalf of the men and women of the Police Department, I would like to thank all those who contributed to the Village Employee Christmas Fund. I would also like to thank everyone who kept the Town Hall supplied with delicious holiday food items. Your thoughtful expressions of support for the Police Department are greatly appreciated.
Our first “Cram a Cruiser” event held Saturday December 12th, 2016 was a huge success! The police department partnered with The Toys for Tots Organization and held a holiday toy drive in front of the town hall. The community response was overwhelming with donations filling three police cars. In addition, the approximately $600.00 in cash donations collected allowed for the purchase of more toys for needy families throughout Cuyahoga County. Thank you to all of the residents of this great community who graciously donated! Ptl. Suchetka did a masterful job of convincing me that the toy drive would be well received and coordinated the event. We plan on having another toy drive in December of this year.
Save the date: Wednesday, March 8th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, please join Fire Chief Robinson and me for “Coffee with the Safety Forces” at Sara’s Place. We will be happy to talk with you about anything that is on your mind, or answer any questions you may have. Special thanks to Dave and Mary Gromelski for hosting this event for us. Light refreshments will be provided.
On Monday, January 16, the suspect was arrested in the Gates Mills Boulevard Home Invasion. This was a total team effort by the public and our police officers. We could not have apprehended the suspect without your assistance. Thank you! We truly appreciate all of the congratulatory phone calls, emails, etc. We are planning a Safety Awareness Program on Tuesday, March 28th, at 6:00 p.m. at the community house.
Please be aware of your surroundings and report any suspicious activity to the police department immediately.
Until next month – Proud to Serve...Sworn to Protect
