From Your Police Department:
The Village Halloween Party will be held at the Community House, between the hours of 6 pm and 8:00 pm, on Friday, October 23rd. Evening festivities will include games, hayrides and plenty of food. Please take advantage of this family friendly event.
For those wishing to participate in neighborhood trick-or-treating, you can do so from 6 pm to 8 pm on October 31st. Listed below are a few safety tips for trick-or-treaters:
* Supervise the outing for children under age 12.
* Make full use of flashlights and glow sticks.
* Wear clothing that is bright, reflective, and flame retardant.
* Avoid masks that can obstruct a child’s vision.
* Inspect all candy before allowing children to eat it.
Below is some ordinances to common questions we receive regarding Dogs Running at Large and Parking.
Dogs Running at Large/Barking Dogs: It is against the law for you to allow your dogs to run loose on public property, or on another’s property without their permission. Although there is no leash law, your dog must be under your control when it is off your property. It is also against the law to allow your dog to continually bark or howl in such a manner that it disturbs the peace and tranquility of the neighborhood.
Roadside Parking: Roadside parking is prohibited throughout the Village except where posted, such as in the business district or on Old Mill Road near the Hunt Club. An exception is that a resident may park in front of his own property and may allow others to do so, for special events, as long as it does not create a hazard to others using the roadway. We encourage you to notify us in advance of these occasions. During the winter season, we urge special care for on-street parking so that you do not impede the plowing of roadways.
