Gates Mills Police Department
Proud to Serve…Sworn to Protect
From Your Police Department:
This month, we are expecting delivery of our new Ford Explorer AWD Police Interceptor sport utility vehicle. The new Police Interceptor patrol vehicles in our fleet are cost effective, highly rated, officer friendly, and more fuel efficient than the Ford Expedition that we are transitioning away from.
A reminder that the Gates Mills annual Shredding Day is scheduled for Saturday, May 14th from 9:00 am until noon. Please take time to sort through unneeded documents and bring them to the rear of the Community House on May 14th. Also, if you happened to miss the drug take back program on April 30th; please contact Detective Michael Day at 423-4405 x 128 or mday@gatesmillsvillage.com for more information on how to properly dispose of medication.
We will begin using our Speed Monitoring Awareness Radar Trailer (SMART) to assist us in our ongoing challenge to control speeding violators in our Village. Please contact Ptl. Arch Kimbrew or Ptl. Dylan Hustosky at the town hall at 423-4405 or their email that can be accessed through our web page if you would like request placement of the trailer on your street.
Over the past several months, we have added Part Time police officers Jaime Planinsek, and Paul Pfiester to our police department. Both officers are very experienced and will be great additions to the Village. You can read about both of these officers in the Officer Spotlight page of the Pink Sheet.
Please be advised that beginning in early May, there will be a culvert replacement project on Mayfield Rd. between County Line and Caves Rd. in Chesterland. This will be a complete road closure for both east and west bound traffic. Once started the project is expected to last between two and four weeks.
Until next month – Proud to serve…Sworn to Protect
