By the time you read this column, spring will have finally arrived! It was a pretty mild winter, but we did experience some occasional bone chilling temperatures. Hopefully you will have a great spring as we look forward to the summer months that are on the horizon!

On March 08th, Fire Chief Robinson and I held “Coffee with the Safety Forces” at Sara’s Place. We had an excellent turnout and it was a pleasure to talk with residents and community leaders in an informal setting. Thank you to Dave and Mary Gromelski for hosting this event for us. We will be planning another event later this year on a Saturday at the community house.

On Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Gates Mills Town Hall, Detective Day will be on site to accept your old/unwanted medications for the National Prescription Drug Take-Back program. Please remember, we are unable to accept liquids or needles.

This year's Safety Town will be held from June 12th – June 16th at the Gilmour Academy Ice Arena located at 2045 SOM Center Rd. in Gates Mills. Morning and afternoon sessions are now available at a cost of $25.00. The fee will be used to assist Gilmour Academy in defraying the cost to use their facility. This is the 4th consecutive year we have partnered with Gilmour Academy to hold Safety Town and the program has been extremely popular and successful.
