From Your Police Department:
With the Fourth of July quickly approaching, here is what you need to know about fireworks. The public may purchase consumer fireworks from a licensed wholesaler or
manufacturer, but those fireworks cannot be discharged anywhere in the State of Ohio. Ohio’s fireworks laws are written to protect people and promote safety. Failing to comply
with these laws can result in devastating fires and catastrophic personal injuries. Enjoy your Fourth of July celebration, but leave the fireworks displays to the licensed
professionals.
With the summer months upon us and many people staying home, there has been an increase in bicyclists. Please remember these important safety rules for you and your
children.
* Ride only in low-traffic areas
* Stop and look before entering a road
* Use proper hand signals
* Ride on the right-hand side of the street
* Follow traffic signs and signals
* Walk bikes across busy intersections
* Exercise good decision making
* Observe all traffic safety rules
* Conduct proper equipment safety checks
* Wear the right helmet
We have three Certified bicycle officers on the department, Corporal John Richards, Ptl. Arch Kimbrew, and Ptl. Joe Godec. If you have any questions about bicycle safety,
please do not hesitate to contact them at the Town Hall.
Have a great summer!
Until next month – Proud to serve…Sworn to Protect
