From Your Police Department:
It has been three years since our transition to Chagrin Valley Dispatch for police, fire, and EMS dispatching services, and a good time to review some commonly used services:
Police, Fire & Medical Emergencies: Dial 911 and a dispatcher will assist you with your police, fire or medical emergency.
The Police Department will be accepting expired or unwanted medications. Simply turn in your unused or expired medication for safe disposal.
For questions call (440) 423-4405 or email Detective Mike Day. mday@gatesmillsvillage.com
*At this time we are unable to accept creams, liquids or needles of any kind.

If you receive complaints about impostor calls -- IRS government scams, debt collection, grandparent scams -- please contact the Cuyahoga County Department of Consumer Affairs at consumeraffairs.cuyahogacounty.us or 216-443-7035.
Their mission is to alert county residents about scams. To do that best, they need to know when scam callers change up their pitches or methods.
Additionally, they would love info on any bogus calls from county agencies -- courts, sheriff, etc -- threatening people with arrest if they do not make immediate payments.

One thing we know about scammers –they want money, and they want it fast. That’s why, whatever the con they’re running, they usually ask people to pay a certain way. They want to make it easy for themselves to get the money—and nearly impossible for you to get it back.

From Your Police Department:
The Police Department recently participated in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Program. During that time, we collected 38 lbs of unwanted/unused medication and had participation from 22 residents. This is the largest amount we have ever collected in this very successful program.

This month, we are expecting delivery of our new Ford Explorer AWD Police Interceptor sport utility vehicle. The new Police Interceptor patrol vehicles in our fleet are cost effective, highly rated, officer friendly, and more fuel efficient than the Ford Expedition that we are transitioning away from.
